I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are looking forward to the holidays coming up next month! In this newsletter, the A-State Flute Studio is excited to invite you to perform in a community concert and attend our upcoming concert!

Flute Ensemble in Concert

Join us this Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 7:30 pm in the A-State Recital Hall for our program "Characters!" Featuring an entertaining and varied selection of music including The Planets by Holst, worksby flutist/composer Gary Schocker, and a Baroque Fugue based on a song by Lady Gaga!

Perform in the Community Flute Choir

You are invited to join the Community Flute Choir and perform in our Holiday Concert with flutists from across Arkansas! Open to flutists of ALL levels, ages 12+!

Register before December 2

Free registration | Suggested donation: $5-10

Rehearsals:

  • Sunday, Dec. 4 from 3-4 pm | A-State Band Room
  • Thursday, Dec. 8 from 7-8 pm | A-State Band Room
  • Dress Rehearsal: Friday, Dec. 9 at 5:30 pm | Valley View High School Fine Arts Center

Performance: Friday, Dec. 9 from 6:30-6:45 pm | Valley View High School Fine Arts Center

Can't make one of the first two rehearsals? No problem! We recommend you join us for at least one of the first two rehearsals. And you're welcome to come to all of them! We'll all join forces and maximize our holiday spirit on Friday, December 9 at 5:30 pm!

How to Help

Flutists at A-State often find it difficult to afford music opportunities farther from home. Your support is always appreciated because it helps students participate in events like the National Flute Convention, regional competitions, and summer music festivals!
